Matteo Ferroni received his PhD degree in Physics at the University of Ferrara in 1998 and is researcher at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Brescia since 2004.

His research activity concerns the characterization of metal-oxides nanoparticles and nanowires by means of transmission and scanning electron microscopy and has been recently involved into the development of nanoscale tomography in the scanning electron microscope. Presently, Matteo Ferroni is in charge of the high-resolution SEM facility at the SENSOR laboratory in Brescia.

Over his professional career, Matteo Ferroni published about 150 papers on peer-reviewed journals achieving 3400 citations and a personal H-index of 32.
