PRESS RELEASE

The first edition of NanoItaly (www.nanoitaly.it) took place from 21 to 24 September at the Renaissance Cloister by Sangallo of the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, Sapienza University of Rome.

The conference has been organized with the purpose to create a meeting and discussion opportunity among the operators of the academic, research and entrepreneurial world, active in the wide field of nano-bio-technologies.

NanoItaly has been co-organized by CNIS (Center of Nanotechnology for Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome) and Associazione Nanoitaly and has proven to be a successful platform in bringing together entrepreneurs, academics, researchers, managers, students and investors in a traditionally fragmented and uneven field.

The conference saw the presence of over 732 participants, that have animated 2 introductory sessions, 2 plenary sessions, 30 parallel symposia and 3 workshops, with more than 154 technical-scientific presentations, among them 3 plenary lectures and 6 keynote lectures, held by important international researchers.

Thanks to the collaboration of APRE (Agency for the Promotion of European Research), we had the opportunity to organize a B2B networking session with more than 40 pre-registered participants, while the Italian Trade Agency and the Ministry of the Economic Development have contributed to the internationalization of the event, supporting the invitation of a delegation comprising 9 experts coming from France, Germany, Poland and UK.

Our deepest appreciation goes to the 17 exhibitors, the 20 industrial sponsors and the 15 scientific patronages, that allow us to make NanoItaly a free participation event open to all the people interested in nano-bio-technologies and that have animated the conference with the presentation of the latest innovations in the nanotech field.

Last but not least, a big thanks to the Department of Basic and Applied Sciences for Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome for the logistic support.
