Main research fields: design, preparation, physicochemical characterization and in vitro and in vivo evaluation of Supramolecular Nanotherapeutics for local and systemic delivery of bioactive compounds.
Specific skills and technologies: physicochemical characterization of Supramolecular Nanotherapeutics using dynamic light scattering analysis, turbidimetric analysis, diffractometry analysis; chromatography (high performance liquid chromatography, HPLC), UV-Vis spectrometry, fluorometer spectrometry; design and evaluation of pharmacokinetic protocols and analysis of biological samples; bio-distribution and biopharmaceutical evaluation of bioactive compounds through in vitro and in vivo models.
Scientific Activity: Scientific activity was carried out in the Department of Pharmacobiological Science and Health Science of the University of Catanzaro, in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technology Department of the University of Palermo, in the Nanomedicine Department of The Methodist Hospital Research Institute. Actually, after official professional appointment in the Academic Staffs of University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara, Dr Christian Celia carries out his research activity in Pharmacy Department of the same University. Moreover, he continues his collaborations as Affiliated Scientist with Nanomedicine Department of The Methodist Hospital Research Institute, Houston, USA, where he is co-mentor of different scientific projects aimed the delivery of chemotherapeutics and genetic materials loaded Supramolecular Nanotherapeutics using in vitro and in vivo models.
Publications: co-author of 47 papers and 1 proceeding paper edited in international peer-reviewed journals. Dr Christian Celia is first author in 9 papers and corresponding* or co-corresponding** in 3 papers.
