Born in Como (I) in 1973, researcher and aggregate professor at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Milano Bicocca. M.Sc. in Biological Sciences (2000), PhD in Animal Biology (2004) at the Department of Biology, University of Milan. Major research activities have recently been focused on the effects of pesticides and on environmental particulate pollutants (PM10, PM2.5, tire debris, engineered nanoparticles). Today nanotoxicology and nanosafety represent the major area of interest. PM collaborate and coordinate national and international projects in the field of Particulate Matter toxicity and nanotoxicology. PM is responsible of Cell and Developmental biology labs, environmental toxicology labs, histology and electron microscopy labs. Membership: European Society of Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC Europe); Italian Society of Microscopy (SISM) and European Microscopy Science (EMS); Italian Embryology Group (GEI); European Cost Action ENTER (The transfer of engineered nanomaterials from wastewater treatment & stormwater to rivers); European Cost Action MODENA (Mode of action of engineered nanoparticles); EU Nanosafety Cluster – WG2 – Hazard. Associate editor of RSC-Advances and Scientific World Journal-Toxicology; referee for numerous scientific journals of cell biology, toxicology, environemtnal sciences. Participation at several international meetings; author of about 50 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
