Francesco Michelotti received his MSc in Physics and PhD in Electromagnetism from the SAPIENZA University, Roma, Italy in 1989 and 1993 respectively. Since 2002 he is Associate Professor at the SAPIENZA University. His research interests include micro and nano optics for molecular recognition, functional polymer thin films, nonlinear optics in organic materials, organic light emitting diodes, and dye sensitized solar cells. He is the coordinator of the specific targeted research project “Bloch electromagnetic surface wave bio-sensors for early cancer diagnosis” (BILOBA) funded by the European Union in the 7th Framework Program and involving four academic institution, one research institute and four private companies distributed all over Europe.
