Luca ORTOLANI
(CNR - IMM)

Luca Ortolani was born march, 7th 1979 and received its Ms.C. and Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Bologna. He is presently researcher at the CNR Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems, Bologna Section, where his research activity addresses scientific and technological problems at the nanoscale, focusing on the synthesis, the characterization with advanced electron beam techniques with both Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopy, and the nano-fabrication of low dimensional carbon materials and other two-dimensional crystals. Dr. Luca Ortolani is author of more than 40 publications on international peer-reviewed journals, and he is serving as referee for several Journals, including Nature and Carbon, Phycal Review Letters and Physica E: Low-Dimensional Systems and Nanostructures. Recently his work focused at developing new strategies to integrate carbon-based materials and other 2D crystals into micro- and nano-electro-mechanical systems (M/NEMS), tuning and tailoring the optical and electronic behaviour of the materials to control the properties and functionalities of the final micro-systems.
