Francesco MURA
(Sapienza Università di Roma)

Francesco Mura has taken his degree in Chemistry, address Physical Chemistry, at the Department Of Chemistry, University La Sapienza, Rome (Italy) in April 2006 exposing a thesis titled “Composite Membranes for Polymeric Electrolyte Fuel Cells”. This work has been made under the supervision of Professor Camillo La Mesa (Department Of Chemistry) and with the collaboration of Dr. Alfonso Pozio (Senior Researcher at ENEA Casaccia), concerning about the synthesis and characterization of modified Nafion-based polymeric membranes. This thesis produced also three publications on different international reviewed papers.

Then, Francesco started his Ph.D. in October 2007 about the “Self-organized anodic TiO2 nanotube arrays and their application as photoelectrode in the solar water splitting” at Department of Chemistry Material Environmental Engineering, La Sapienza University, Rome, under the supervision of Prof. Mauro Pasquali and again with the collaboration of Dr. Alfonso Pozio of the ENEA Casaccia labs. On March 2011, Francesco has started his collaboration with Prof. Marco Rossi (Dept. of Fundamental and Applied Sciences for Engineering, La Sapienza University), as post-doc researcher, working on different Nanocharacterization and Nanofabrication techniques, like Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy, Electron Beam Lithography, Focus Ion Beam and X-Ray Microanalysis, and resulting the main operator of the Dual Beam Auriga Zeiss Scanning Electron Microscopy located at the Sapienza Nanoscience & Nanotechnology Labs (SNN-Lab).

This position has permitted to Francesco to start many collaborations with different research groups in Sapienza. Furthermore, Dr. Mura has been external Professor of Chemistry for the Department of Sciences for Civil Engineering for the academic year 2011-2012.
