Filippo GIANNAZZO

Filippo GIANNAZZO
(CNR-IMM)

Filippo Giannazzo was born in Enna (Italy) in 1974. He received the M.Sc. Degree in Physics (cum laude) and the PhD in Materials Science from the University of Catania, in 1998 and 2002 respectively. He joined CNR as a Researcher in 2005 and is currently in charge of the research activity on “Nanotechnology and advanced technologies for high performant power and RF integrated electronics” at the Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems (IMM) in Catania.

His research interests cover different aspects of nanoscience and nanotechnology. He is an expert in scanning probe microscopy methods for the characterization of carrier transport properties in advanced materials for micro and nano-electronics: wide-band gap semiconductors, nanostructured metal films, high k or giant k dielectrics, organics, graphene and 2D materials. He authored or co-authored more than 200 papers on international peer reviewed journals (h-index 24, ISI) and 4 book chapters in these fields.

He is frequently invited speaker in national and international conferences. He has been co-PI in the Graphic-RF EUROGraphene project by ESF and is currently involved in the WP8 “Flexible electronics” of Graphene Flagship. He has been responsible of scientific activities in several contracts and JDA with industry (STMicroelectronics, Centrotherm, PSIA). In 2004 he received the SISM award from the “Società Italiana di Scienze Microscopiche”.
