Researcher at Food and Veterinary Toxicology Unit of the Department of Food Safety and Veterinary Public Health – Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Italy). Main activity in the elaboration and development of experimental in vivo models and risk assessment of chemicals potentially present in food and feed with neuroendocrine, immune, reproductive-like activities and nanomaterials. Specific focus on reproductive and developmental toxicity. Substantial work in the field of risk assessment at international level, concerning mainly the evaluation of chemical compounds and nanomaterials. Expert activity in National and International Commissions. Research at international level in the frame of the following projects (among others): Nanogenotox (Safety evaluation of manufactured nanomaterials by characterization of their potential genotoxic hazard), NANoREG (A common European approach to the regulatory testing of Manufactured Nanomaterials), REPROTECT (“Development of a novel approach in hazard and risk assessment of reproductive toxicity by a combination and application of in vitro, tissue and sensors technologies), AQUAMAX (Sustainable aquafeeds to maximize the health benefits of farmed fish for consumers).
