The Knowledge Innovation Community on Raw Materials (EIT Raw Materials)

On Dec. 9th, 2014 the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (Budapest) appointed the Knowledge Innovation Community “EIT RAW MATERIALS”, devoted to mitigate the risk of supply shortage of raw materials for EU manufacturing industry.
The KIC will take off in 2016, according to a business plan that is being worked out in 2015.
In this talk, the main features of the KIC will be illustrated (organization, priorities, focus areas, themes). A major emphasis is given to the activities and the themes of the Southern Co-Location Centre of the KIC, headquartered in Rome, involving about 40 partners of Italy, Spain, Hungary, Malta.
